Legend has it that after many years of swimming upstream the Yangste river only one fish succeded in not giving up the fight and surrendering to the current.  The Gods rewarded him and turned him into a golden dragon, the Koi.  The much revered Koi is a symbol of strength, perseverance, self fulfilment, hope and prosperity.
